The Chronicle Building, built in 1903, is now owned by HANDS and houses its offices as well as other commercial space. This
historic landmark building originally housed The
Orange Chronicle, a daily newspaper. It is ideally located just
a few steps from Main Street and less than 100 yards from the Orange train
station. It was severely deteriorated and occupied by a squatter
with dozens of cats and dogs. HANDS took title in 2003 and restored the
building to its former prominence.

The decorative cornice is one of the elements of the 100 year old Chronicle Building being restored for HANDS by East Orange contractor Mark
Miller.
The decorative cornice has been restored and new windows installed on the 2nd and 3rd floors of this downtown Orange landmark.
