ValleyArts Partners

ValleyArts programs and activities are designed to provide opportunities for high school students to gain skills and employment in the arts; expose younger students to a variety of creative options; train adults with disabilities; bring artists into the schools; increase cultural programs and events; attract arts-related businesses; and revitalize streets in the Valley neighborhood that have abandoned industrial sites.

ValleyArts Partners include …

bulletThe City of Orange ~ ValleyArts collaborates with the City of Orange on cultural activities that benefit all Orange residents. The City also provides access to public recreational facilities and support for ValleyArts’ programs.

bullet Orange Board of Education  ~ Known for its focus on the arts, the Orange Board of Education partners with ValleyArts in a variety of ways, from providing educators and other resources to marketing support and hosting arts programs.

bullet Arts Unbound ~ For more than five years, Arts Unbound has been providing artistic and vocational opportunities to adults living with disabilities. AU is the first ValleyArts tenant to move into space rehabilitated by HANDS in the “Valley Arts District.”

bullet Communities in Schools, NJ/Studioworks ~ Studioworks provides high school students training and employment in the arts through an after school arts club, summer employment and career internships. Students work directly with master artists in the visual and performing arts and multimedia.

bullet HANDS, Inc.  ~ For 20 years HANDS has been working with Valley residents to improve neighborhood conditions and redevelop abandoned properties. HANDS and its partners will rehabilitate a number of old factory sites and create the “Valley Arts District,” with nearly 100 affordable artist live/work spaces, studios, retail and arts program spaces and 400 condominiums, neighborhood stores and restaurants.

bullet Valley Settlement House  ~ Established in 1897, VSH is the oldest "settlement" in N.J. and the third oldest in the U.S. The agency offers families services and resources to enhance development and stability. Through the ValleyArts Youth Institute, VSH provides creative opportunities in dance and visual arts for children ages 6 to 13.
