The HANDS HomeBuyers Club assists first-time homebuyers
through the homebuying process providing them with educational seminars, mutual
peer and group support, clear and consistent information, and high quality
guidance in buying a home. The club
is a group of people helping and supporting each other as they travel the road
to homeownership. The HomeBuyers Club vision is to assist first-time homebuyers
in every way possible to become successful homeowners and to engage them in the
improvement of the community of The HomeBuyers Club:
Aspiring homebuyers apply to join a chapter with 20 other
buyers who meet twice monthly for six months. The semi-monthly meetings are two
hours long with child-care and dinner provided. The HomeBuyers Club is run by Dorothy White, Homebuyer Coordinator/Counselor, who facilitates chapter meetings with Elizabeth Jackson. They are both certified in Homebuyer Training and Counseling by the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation. Here is the pledge taken by all all members of the HomeBuyers Club.
